Since the term became Oxford English Dictionary’s “Word of the Year” back in 2013, the act of snapping a quick self-portrait in front of [insert landmark here] has grown to have its own International Day (June 21), spurring smartphone brands to install in-built “beauty” filters for optimal face-flaunting.
