Eastern Creek Historic returns for 2021

Have a Pheasant weekend and save Historic Racing • The former rider/driver training facility at Marulan, just off the Hume Highway near Goulburn NSW, is now a fully-licensed motor racing circuit, called Pheasant Wood Circuit, catering for all types of motorsport.

Island Classic postponed, not cancelled • The International Island Classic held on the Australia Day long weekend for the past 27 years, is one of the largest historic motorcycle race meetings in the world. However due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit management has announced that the 2021 meeting will be postponed.

Yamaha announces all-new Tracer 900 • Five years after the launch of the original model, Yamaha has released details of an all-new version of the Tracer 900 triple; the extremely versatile model that has been such a hit amongst the sports/touring set.

GOMA kicks off • On 28th November, Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) opened ‘The Motorcycle. Design. Art. Desire.’ to the public after more than a year of planning.

COVID claims 2021 Bonanza • The Motorcycling Australia (MA) Museum and Heritage Committee has made the very difficult decision, in consultation with Motorcycling Australia to cancel the 2021 Broadford Bike Bonanza in the interest of public health and safety and the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Godfrey Nash • One of the top privateers of the ‘sixties, Briton GODFREY NASH, passed away in November in UK.

Bob Williams • A long time member of the Vincent Owners Club of Victoria and of the International VOC, BOB WILLIAMS died in Melbourne on 21st August, 2020 aged 89.

Karl Praml • Recently we learned of the death of notable motorcycle mechanic and sponsor, KARL PRAML. Karl had been experiencing ill health for some time but his death, in Canberra Hospital, was sudden and unexpected.

Triumph to Triumph • Throughout his 18 year racing career he campaigned whatever marque he believed was most capable of a win, however John Warrian’s heart belonged to Triumph from his first Tiger 100 to his current Bonneville.

An enduring love affair • Bryan Fowler has owned his WLA Harley since purchasing it in USA in 1975. In 2019, by now an Australian resident, he decided it was time for a re-vamp.

THE LITTLE BIG SIZE THAT MISSED AUSTRALIA

A MONOCOQUE MARVEL • The Kiwis have a reputation for home-spun engineering that rivals, or betters, anything anywhere. And this is never more apparent than in the monocoque racers created by Steve Roberts.

A class ACT Mount Ginn ACT • The Australian Capital Territory has a fairly limited involvement when it comes to motor sport venues, despite many projects being mooted over the years, but most failing to come to fruition. The closest ACT has come to its long-desired road racing track was the short-lived McArthur Park, a public roads circuit over the streets in a subdivision that was eventually fully developed. There have been motocross tracks, one near the Canberra Airport and the curiously named Karma Gutza at Fairburn...
