Fliming of the Essex Serpent • A film crew descended upon Maldon, Essex to shoot scenes for the forthcoming TV series The Essex Serpent, an adaptation of the eponymous best-selling 2016 novel by Sarah Perry. The photo here, taken by Sandy Miller, depicts three Thames sailing barges – Reminder, Centaur and Hydrogen – moored at Hythe Quay. Claire Danes and Tom Hiddleston are starring in leading roles, with Clio Barnard as series director. There is no broadcast date at present, but the series will first be shown on Apple TV+.
