’EIGHTIES RECALL • This superb Foden 4000 series eight-wheeled brick lorry of A E Hawkins, dating from 1988, recalls an era when British lorries were still earning their keep. Sadly, just 20 years or so after this shot was taken Foden had ceased production and the once proud UK commercial vehicle industry had effectively ceased to exist.
