Akimbo and the Snakes

Akimbo is back and is eagerly anticipating an extended visit to his Uncle Peter's snake park. Finally, he is old enough for a working vacation with his favorite uncle! While milking cobras for the venom used in serum to cure snakebites sounds exotic, it pales in comparison to the work that Akimbo is ultimately called upon to do. As Uncle Peter said, experience provides the best way to understand snakes. As narrator of his own work, Smith speaks with a dignified and precise voice. Crisp enunciation flows effortlessly and underscores the engaging details of snake handling and the personalities of puff adders and mambas, both black and green.
