HOORAH!

Classic American

Kingstown Shipping Car of the Year Heat Winner #1 Crowned

AUCTION WATCH • Spring has definitely sprung in the auction world with a couple of biggies kicking things off in March. First up was the Historics event which took place at Ascot Racecourse on March 2 and saw a mouth-watering selection of American vehicles (and a trailer!) go under the hammer. Next up was H&H’s auction that took place on March 13 at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford…

AUCTION WATCH PART II • Imperial War Museum, Duxford March 13, 2024

CHRYSLERS AT BROOKLANDS… AND ELSEWHERE!

1949 Ford Barris • George Barris is probably one of the most famous creators of the Kustomizing world. Sadly this, one of his later creations, is probably one of the more forgettable…

Camaro Theft • Stateside, Chevy’s pony car is proving a hot target with thieves reports Huw Evans

Mail • Email us at: email@classic-american.com or write to: Classic American magazine, PO Box 99, Horncastle, Lincs LN9 6LZ

SQUARE BIRD SURVIVOR • This fabulous 1960 Thunderbird is a rare, low-mileage survivor that’s almost completely original – which is exactly how owner Peter Reynolds intends to keep it.

Back in Black • Decent Chargers are pretty thin on the ground these days, so Charger enthusiast Ian Ball opted for a project without an engine and the transmission in the boot… At least that meant he could source the natural engine choice for his car – a Hemi of course!

Working-Class Hero • Paul Mimmack is in the habit of driving rare muscle cars, but he woke up one day fancying a pick-up. Always preferring the lesser-seen and unusual, he ended up importing this finely aged International, and pick-ups don’t come much rarer than that.

EVENT REPORT WHEELS DAY • Newbury Showground, Berkshire March 29, 2024

Joie Chitwood Jnr International Stuntman • Joie Chitwood Jnr, now 80 and living in Florida, has led a remarkable life, as did his father, Joie Senior and now so does his son, Joie III…

EVENT REPORT 74TH GRAND NATIONAL ROADSTER SHOW 2024 • Pomona, California, United States February 2-4

EVENT REPORT NSRA SOUTHERN SWAP MEET 2024 • North Weald, Essex March 3, 2024

Wind Me Up! Tech: Windows • Sometimes in life the simpler things are better, such as wind-up windows. Which would you prefer: a 50-year-old electric window, or a 50-year-old wind-up window? I think we all know the answer to that one! Still, both wind-up windows and electric windows need a little TLC now and then, as Martin Mumford explains…
