Tailor-made • The great return of workwear means one thing: tailoring is the star of AW23. Leaning into the tropes of ties and garters, Dilara Findikoglu paired them with a deconstructed blazer, skirt and silver charms. Luar designer Raul Lopez showed boxy, 80s-inspired shirts and layered skirts, while Schiaparelli matched an immaculately cut blazer and trousers with a patent tie. It’s time to look sharp.

Sweet neutrals • Treat yourself to chocolate-shop shades of toffee, cocoa and beige this season. And finally… the new rebels • To mark three decades of the British Fashion Council’s Newgen talent incubation programme, the Design Museum will celebrate rollicking, riotous British fashion with its new show ‘Rebel: 30 Years of London Fashion’ (from 16 September). Sponsored by Alexander McQueen, it features the work of over 300 designers, from Grace Wales Bonner to Molly Goddard. And you don’t need to look far this season to find the same energy on the catwalk. See Chopova Lowena’s off-kilter plaid kilts or Marc Jacobs’ moving tribute to the original fashion rebel, Vivienne Westwood, which was full of 90s-style platforms and lashings of layers.
