Whatever happened to? PAT MAHONEY

Hustlin' Hog! • Wildly successful on dirt-tracks and oval miles, Harley-Davidson experienced success in road-racing with their small two-strokes, but for one thumping 45-degree V-twin four-stroke, it was a case of just too little, and too late – but it still made a big impression on the tarmac: meet the XR750-TT.

Jive talking! • Racer, dealer, ad rep, fireman, TV and film extra and keen jive dancer: Dave Street may be 75, but he’s still 21 at heart, with a lifelong interest in bikes, especially race bikes.

ICONIC METAL #35 DUCATI 900SS NCR

BREAKFAST WITH BOZ! PART ONE • Nigel Bosworth was a top 250cc two-stroke pilot in the UK during the 1980s and early 1990s. He became a test-rider for Kenny Roberts and ran teams such as Red Bull Ducati and Foggy Petronas. Classic Racer sat down with him, bought him breakfast and recorded some stories…

PATON PG500R • The 2000 PG500R was the only two-stroke Paton to score a point in the 500cc World Championship. Makes it kinda special...

PART 2 BEST OF BRITISH! • As the 1980s dawned, the Honda Britain team had established itself as the biggest outfit in the paddock. In the second of our three-part series, team founder Gerald Davison reveals more inside secrets about the running of the team.

JACK OF ALL TRADES! • In our final tributes to Yorkshire’s greatest racing dynasty, Classic Racer looks back on the life and career of Nick Jefferies – a real talent on two wheels.

CRMC AWARDS • It was time once more for the pre-Christmas Classic Racing Motorcycle Club (CRMC) awards dinner and annual meeting: once more, Graham and Pete were there for us.

MOTO PATON AGAINST ALL ODDS • Giuseppe Pattoni was a legend… As the driving force behind Paton, he was the small race motorcycle manufacturer that dreamed big, taking on those with much more resources, just for the love and passion of the sport and race-bike engineering in itself.

Difference of the decades • Jack Burnicle crossed swords with John Kocinski when the American was in full race mode back in 1991, and then was asked to interview him on stage at The Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show in 2022. Had the decades mellowed the racer who was once considered a ‘difficult’ person to talk to? Let’s find out…

HIZZY • THE MERCURIAL TALENT OF ONE OF SCOTLAND’S FINEST!
