THE DAWN OF A NEW ERA • Sixty-nine years ago, a brand-new Zephyr-Zodiac seemed as up to the minute as an Eastmancolor film starring Diana Dors and an object of desire for any Edwardian-suited youths who queued to jive to Ken Mackintosh and His Band at the Southampton Gaumont. Chris Brown’s 1954 example certainly fulfils the brochure’s promise of a car to 'give you really superb motoring.'

WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN • This unique Coupé imagines what the designers and engineers at Polski Fiat might have achieved in the 1970s if their creativity had not been stifled by communism and a lack of cash.

BEDFORD CA ARISTOCRAT • The Aristocrat was so much more than a ruse to avoid purchase tax by fitting a commercial vehicle with seats – it was a comfortable, capable and extremely stylish people carrier.

SMALL CAR, BIG PROJECT • Steve Cowdin decided to dip his toes back into the restoration waters with a small project, but while it may have been small in stature, it was pretty immense in the scale of his ambitions.

10 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT... • The Austin-Healey 100 and 3000 cars were legends in their own lifetimes, and a whole host of books have been written about them. This small selection of trivia and nuggets of information only scratches the surface, but is our tribute to this all-time classic British sports car.

FORD CORTINA MK3 PROJECT PART 9 • Our Cortina project draws to a close with one final body repair, new carpet and a brand-new windscreen.

MAKING A CLASSIC WINDSCREEN • Ever wondered how you make a new laminated screen for a classic such as our Cortina? We did, so we asked Pilkington to explain!

Devil is in the details • After sorting out the gear selector mechanism last issue, this month we carry on with the recommissioning process by completing some relatively small but still important tasks.

PROJECT ROVER 95 • We have three problems to sort on the Rover’s transmission this issue, one of them being more urgent than the others. Amazingly, we won this particular fight with a 3-0 score!

PAINT AND PAINTING • We start this instalment of the Restoration Skills Workshop with a look at what goes...
