Rolls-Royce & Bentley Driver

March - April 2023
Magazine

Celebrating two of Britain's most prestigious automotive marques, Rolls-Royce & Bentley Driver magazine is the definitive publication for all Rolls-Royce and Bentley enthusiasts and owners. Principally focusing on the classic models of these luxurious car brands, it will offer comprehensive coverage of the most popular versions from both Rolls-Royce and Bentley, ranging from immediately after WW2 up to around the turn of the millennium. Undoubtedly, there will be some coverage of pre-war models, and we will feature modern classics such as the Bentley GT coupe. Whatever the model, however, our aim with Rolls-Royce & Bentley Driver magazine is to offer a mix of owners' stories, buying advice, technical hints and tips and inspiration on how to restore, maintain, and, crucially, enjoy your favourite Rolls-Royce or Bentley.

IS THIS THE EX-DYNASTY SILVER CLOUD?

N SANDELL WELCOMES RREC

TRAILBLAZERS • Though built 50 years apart, these two have something in common: both were make-or-break models for Rolls-Royce. We visit the man who owns them, and drive each car to see how the company's unique qualities persisted across half a century

HOOPER'S ROLE IN ROLLS-ROYCE HISTORY

MARKET WATCH • Each issue, we take a look at some of the most tempting cars for sale and report on others that have sold - covering everything from affordable modern classics through to the most premium-priced gems

THE BIGGER THE BETTER? • The 8-Litre ‘Dead Silent 100 mph car’ was W.O. Bentley's masterpiece, in the view of many observers. Because they were made in tiny numbers, any encounter with an 8-litre is to be savoured, as our man in California, Steve Natale, discovered.

YOUR SHOUT • Got something to say about anything Rolls-Royce or Bentley related? Then we want to hear it!

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER!

QUALITY OF LIFE • This elegant Corniche has found a happy home for life, says its owner. Careful investment and attention has turned a good example into a car to be proud of…and it gets enjoyed, too.

THE LONGEST-LIVED MODEL

LEARNING ON THE JOB

THE REAL CAR CO. LTD • Established more than 35 years ago, The Real Car Co has proved that a quiet corner of Snowdonia can become an epicentre for the trade in vintage and classic Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars

ELEGANCE AND QUALITY • Brian Williams came late to the joys of Rolls-Royce ownership. Magnificently capturing the elegance of pre-war luxury motoring, this 25/30hp Sports Saloon has produced a convert with a mission.

AN ANATOMY OF… THE ROLLS-ROYCE SILVER WRAITH • The first post-war Rolls-Royce emerged into a very changed world of uncertainty and austerity. However, despite its considerable cost and only being available with coachbuilt bodies, it proved a long-lived success

A DRAMATIC SHIFT

THE VIEW • John Tupper, managing director of IntroCar, says:

FULL STEAM AHEAD • Another busy year of events is planned for the Bentley Drivers Club in 2023, with the Summer Concours, Silverstone race meeting and one-off Birkin Tour the highlights

THE RESTORATION SHOW • Indoor show season continues with news of the RREC's second visit to the NEC in Birmingham, plus an early warning to grab tickets for the Annual Rally

THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS? • The idea of a sports limousine seems like an oxymoron, but a few minutes with a Bentley Flying Spur like this 2012 example shows that Bentley achieved something wed once have thought impossible.
