Real Classic

Oct 01 2021
Magazine

RealClassic magazine features the very best British motorcycles from all eras, plus charismatic Continental machines (and the odd Japanese classics crops up occasionally, too). Long term classic riders will recognise many of the members of the RC team, which includes authors, historians and journalists like Steve Wilson, Dave Minton, Matt Vale, Odgie, Jacqueline 'PUB' Bickerstaff, Rowena Hoseason and editor Frank Westworth -- but the magazine's key feature is that it is firmly grounded in the real world. Our articles are written by real life riders and reflect far more than a simple road test ever can. We're never scared of getting grubby in The Shed (and we even admit it when things go horribly wrong!)

FROM THE FRONT

Klone - WITH-A-K • When is a BSA not a BSA? When it’s a Kawasaki. Alan Cathcart has been sunning himself aboard an oddity…

The Zane Game • Living with a later Laverda built at Zane can be a bit hit and miss. But owner Adam Sherriff says it also offers a simply sublime experience…

GIVING UP THE GHOST

CLUBMAN’S CORNER

Grade Inflation • After a lifetime of longing, Simon Blease finally bought the bike of this dreams, a 750 SF1. But two cylinders weren’t quite enough, and soon as 1200 triple came on the scene…

Just like Gene • Neal had a dream and Nige builds bikes. Between them they’ve created a cracking flat-tracker, and Odgie explains how it happened…

OOZING SOLUTION • Many moons ago, Stephen Herbert rebuilt a Royal Enfield Constellation. Over time, some oil seepage became apparent from the 700 twin’s top end. Time to experiment with gaskets…

Star QIALITY • Odgie is building a lightweight British single for a friend. The big bits are coming together nicely, so now it’s time to pay attention to the little things…

PUB TALK • Finally back out on the road, and doing some miles, but unfortunately to too many Funerals.

Ollie's ODDJOBS • L for Leather! Ollie has plainly decided to be a teenager again. Again…

THE SHED • Sunbeams are supposed to be the gentleman’s motorcycle. Why exactly has Frank been working on one? It’s a mystery…
